The Birth Boutique was created by Shari Criso, board certified lactation consultant, nurse-midwife, and mother of two. After struggling for several years to locate local stores to provide her expectant and new mother patients the products and services they needed for pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding, Shari decided to open her own store. Shari opened her first Birth Boutique location in Denville, NJ in 2001.

Following a tremendous customer response, she re-located the business to a retail space in Denville 5 times as large in 2003! In late 2004, The Birth Boutique launched this retail website to accommodate customers who preferred to shop from the convenience of their homes, as well as open its doors to non-local friends, families, and other Internet shoppers who wanted the same level of quality products and services as the customers of the boutique store. Shari, along with her friendly and helpful staff, will continue to explore ways to better accommodate the needs of their customers!
